Magazine Tutorials: Sketch Image Effect

I followed a tutorial in the magazine A Photographers Guide to Photoshop. This tutorial taught me how to make a normal photograph appear to look like a hand-drawn sketch. I used a photo that I took of my cousin. The final result actually does look like a sketch, so the tutorial was very helpful. Although it didn't say to, I added a Gaussian Blur to the final image just because the Pen Strokes were a little too defined for my taste.

Assignment 11: proposal for Photoshop research

My interest area in this class is working with photoshop. I enjoy fixing photos and making them look better. The type of photos that I like working with are ones of nature and portraiture. To fix these pictures, I use the protocols that I was taught in this class, and I also like to play around with other effects and tools on Photoshop.
For my end project, I will probably create a portfolio of pictures that I have taken. A few of nature and a few portraits. I'll edit the pictures, probably in some way to make them all have the same colour scheme and mood. I will present this project in a portfolio form.

My inspiration for this end project will most likely be something like these pictures:
